Welcome to my website which is filled with everything you need to know about retiring to another country but more specifically about retiring to Thailand. If you don’t know me from my YouTube channel here is some background about how I came to be retired in Thailand. I am originally from Middlesbrough in the UK though I spent much of my adult life in Australia and I have travelled the world as a chef having worked in 10 different countries. I visited Thailand regularly as a tourist since 1983 and have now lived here as a retiree for seven years since moving from Australia in 2017. Since arriving in Thailand, I have re-established myself as an author and have written fifteen books to date. Three years ago, I started a YouTube channel about living in Thailand, “Thailand My Land”. The channel helps people who may be thinking of retiring to this beautiful country. I am excited to publish my new magazine, The Retire in Thailand Magazine, a lifestyle magazine for the young at heart, for retirees or future retirees looking for more in their retirement than their home country can offer them. Because I retired here to “the land of smiles”, the magazine's main focus will be Thailand, though every month the magazine will feature other great retirement destinations from around the world. Every month the magazine will recap the top news stories and events that happened in Thailand during the previous month, Thai currency fluctuations, cost of living comparisons between Thailand and other countries, weather charts for the current month, holidays and festivals in Thailand for the coming month, Thai recipes and so much more. The magazine is a work in progress and I would love to hear from anyone about what they would like to see in future issues of the magazine.
